2017 Winter Skills Clinics |
The 2017 Winter Skills Clinics Registration are now open.
SORRY - REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.

Skills clinics will start on Monday, January 9, 2017 with Kelsey Powers returning for her second year as our skills instructor. Girls whose birth years are from 2000 to 2013 (inclusive) and played in the Taunton Girls Softball League during any of the 2016 seasons (or are registered for Spring, 2017) are eligible to participate.
Skills clinics are one hour long and run on Monday nights beginning January 9, 2017 and ending March 6, 2017 (no clinics during Martin Luther King Holiday (1/16/17) and February School Vacation (2/20/17)). There are two time slots 6pm - 7pm and 7pm-8pm which will be organized by age and skill level. This 8-week, two-level clinic will instruct the girls in softball skills to carry them into the 2017 season.
The 2017 Winter Skills Clinics are to be held at the Benjamin A. Friedman Middle School Gymnasium, 500 Norton Avenue, Taunton, MA on Monday nights starting January 9, 2017 and ending on March 6, 2017. Note: Clinics will NOT be held on the Martin Luther King Holiday (1/16/17) and during February School Vacation 2/20/17.
Winter Skills clinics are limited in the number of students they can accommodate, and enrollment is strictly on a first registered and paid, first served basis so register and pay early to get your player's slot! Fee Waivers will not be granted for skills clinic this Winter.

Additional Skills Clinic Information |
- Please make sure that whatever your child brings to the clinic is marked with her full name so that it can be returned if it is left behind. (Our lost and found grows with every clinic.)
- Send your child to the bathroom before clinic so we can limit the number of children coming and going during the session. You can also send water or juice, as it gets warm in the gym.
- Dress your child in comfortable clothes, preferably in layers, not too loose and/or bulky. The child should be able to move freely. A good fitting T-shirt and a sweatshirt work perfectly. Sneakers are a must! We are on the school’s gym floor.
- PLEASE DO NOT drop your child off at the school without first making sure that a clinic is being held. You must walk your child into the school as a safety precaution. You are required to come in to get your child, as no child will be allowed to leave the building without a parent.
- When the winter months arrive, bad weather will also be close behind. If the weather is bad and school is cancelled or released early, we will not have clinic. We will put a message on the league website Field Status page and Facebook page and will also notify folks via text message using RainedOut.com if clinics are cancelled. Please go here for more information on receiving text messages from the league about cancellations. No refunds will be given or makeups scheduled for clinic cancellations due to school weather related closings.
- Please note that there are no clinics during February School vacation. Certain school events may also affect this schedule. Notification of any changes will be posted at the registration table and on the league website and Facebook page as soon as they are known.
- The members of the Taunton Girls Softball League are the guests at the Friedman Middle School! Your cooperation in following school department rules will be expected. We will have access to the gym area only. NO ONE will be allowed in the main portion of the school and please be sure to supervise younger children if it is necessary to bring them with you to the school.
