Can you believe that summer is almost over?  Well good news is that Fall Ball Opening Day is this coming Saturday, August 25, 2012 beginning at 8:30am.

Below are some notes and reminders as you make your way to our softball complex.

We will have a special performance of the national anthem by Andy Gouldrup (Vice President, Senior Division) and his guitar starting at 8:30am as well as team introductions to kick off the season.


In an effort to kick off our league fundraising for the Fall we are looking for each girl to bring a voluntary only donation of a 12 pack (cans) of a pepsi product or a 12 pack of bottles of gatorade.  This will go a long way towards stocking our concession stand for the fall season.   There will be a table set up at the front of the concession stand to collect the donations.  Also, Tom Zahara, Sun Devils Manager, will be running a 50/50 raffle throughout opening day so don't miss out on that as well!

Fall Ball uniforms are due to be distributed to managers at the softball fields on Thursday, August 23 after 5:30pm so please check with your manager as to when he/she will be distributing them to your team.

To make your trip to the Taunton Girls Softball Complex as fun as possible there are a few important things to keep in mind when visiting:

  • The Taunton Girls Softball League asks that all parents and friends please use the parking lots at either the Chamberlain or Friedman Public Schools.  The parking lot located directly in front of the concession stands is designated for Managers with team equipment bags (special designated TGSL parking pass), concession staff, umpires, and those with handicapped parking permits.
    • There is a Yellow Line painted in the concession stand parking lot which indicate spaces reserved for team managers with equipment bags and require aTaunton Girls Softball League parking permit to be clearly visibile in the windshield of the vehicle.

    • Any space in the concession stand parking lot which does not have a Yellow Line is available for parents/friends on a first come first served basis.  So if you really want to park close to the concession stand come on down to the field early and give your coach a hand setting up the fields!

    • PARKING IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE STREET as this is a Fire Lane for the schools and our complex.  Police will ticket vehicles parked on the street.
    • There is a foot bridge which allows for access to the back end of fields 2 & 3 from the Chamberlain Schoool parking lot.
  • The Taunton Girls Softball complex is located on public school grounds and there are NO PETS allowed.
  • The Taunton Girls Softball complex is located on public school grounds and there is NO SMOKING allowed.
