Please see the following message from the Dr. Hackett, Superintendent of Schools.
The Risk level for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been raised to high in Taunton, Raynham and Easton. A risk designation of 'high' comes with the recommendations of canceling or rescheduling evening activities, as well as the normal recommendations of avoiding dusk to dawn activities, using mosquito repellent, wearing appropriate protective clothing and draining any standing water on your property, etc.Â
Based upon the recommendation of the Massachusetts Department of Health and the Taunton Board of Health, the cancellation of all dusk and evening activities will remain in effect until further notice. This includes all school events, as well as events organized by those who rent or use our facilities. The sun sets earlier in the fall; therefore, effective Sunday, September 1, 2013, all evening activities must conclude by no later than 6:30 p.m.
