Jewish Community House Facility Now Open
9/28/2013by TGSL e-Board

As you probably know by now, our new hitting facility at the Jewish Community House on 133 High Street in Taunton is now open and teams are practicing.  Below are a few rules that we all need to follow to be sure that we are the best tenants possible and can continue to have use of this fine facility for years to come.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

The following ground rules have been established by The Executive Board of the Taunton Girls Softball League. To ensure the safe and efficient usage of the facility these rules must be adhered to at all times during use of the batting cages. Individuals and/or teams observed to be in violation of said rules are subject to loss of privilege, as deemed appropriate by The Executive Board.

Please remember we are tenants of the Congregation Agudath Achim at the Jewish Community House, we must treat their facility with the utmost respect.

  1. Only CORI certified adults over 18 may operate the pitching machines.  If you don't have a current CORI on file with TGSL then fill out the form here (it takes two minutes).
  2. Children are not permitted to feed the pitching machines under any circumstances.
  3. During use, only 1 player is permitted in the cage at a time to hit.
  4. Helmets must be worn at all times in the batting cages.
  5. No food, gum, seeds allowed.
  6. No swinging of bats outside the cages.
  7. No tobacco or alcohol use allowed.
  8. All parents/guardians must remain in the lobby while practice is being held.
  9. No unattended children allowed in the facility.
  10. Remove any trash that you bring with you including water bottles.
  11. The bathrooms are in the lobby.  Please keep them clean.
  12. Only scheduled teams are allowed to practice.
  13. The Eboard will designate “Open Practice” on a First-Come, First-Served basis (See website for date/times.)
  14. No outside Private Instructors allowed.
  15. For insurance purposes, only registered TGSL girls are allowed.

At the end of each practice each team must:

  • Shut off and unplug pitching machine.

  • Pick up all balls and return them to the buckets.

  • Please remove any trash and leave the area clean and neat.

  • Shut off the lights.

  • Turn the Motion Detector on.

  • Set the Alarm and make sure the facility is locked.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF BATTING CAGE PRIVILEGES FOR THE SEASON.
