Dear TGSL Faithful,
It has come to my attention that there was some confusion as to the eligibility of players to play on our TGSL Tornadoes or Twisters travel teams. We are in a transition year with our travel program and are looking to build an even stronger program than we've seen in the past with more clinics for our coaches and players, expanded tournament offerings and playing and bringing in more competitive teams to play in Taunton.
Our Tornadoes teams will continue to play the competitive weekend tournaments that they've always played and are looking to play in such events as ASA states and possibly regional offerings. Our Twisters teams continue to evlove from what were traditionaly purely weeknight Summer Travel Ball teams to teams who are entering, competing and winning weekend tournaments themselves.
The key word for the league is opportunity and that is what we are looking to provide any girl that plays recreational ball for Taunton Girls Softball League and wants to take their game to the next level, the ability to do so.
To accomplish our goals and fulfil our TGSL Mission of bringing softball to the girls of Taunton there comes a time when folks need to commit to either an outside travel team or one within TGSL (Tornadoes or Twisters).
So to clear up any confusion, if a player is added to any ASA Championship roster outside of that of a Taunton Girls Softball League affilitated team then they will not be eligible to play on either a Tornadoes or Twisters travel team in 2016.
Should you have any questions or comments you can always email me directly (programdirector@tauntongirlssoftball.org).
Looking forward to a bright and strong future for TGSL,
Michael Peckman
Program Director, Taunton Girls Softball League
