HURRY - REGISTRATION CLOSES MONDAY, JAN 2, 2017

The 2017 Winter Skills Clinics are Now Open!  Skills clinics will start on Monday, January 9, 2017 with Kelsey Powers returning for her second year as our skills instructor.  Girls whose birth years are from 2000 to 2013 (inclusive) and played in the Taunton Girls Softball League during any of the 2016 seasons (or are registered for Spring, 2017) are eligible to participate. 


Kelsey is a 2009 graduate from The University of Rhode Island where she was a  catcher/utility player for the University's Division I softball team.  While at URI, Kelsey earned a Bachelor of Science in textiles, fashion merchandising & design with a minor in communications.


Kelsey's hometown is Taunton, Ma., but she attended Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School.  She was the starting varsity catcher from 2003-2005 helping to bring her team to the South Sectional tournament every year.  In 2004 Dighton-Rehoboth went 21-2 losing to Cardinal Spellman in the South Sectional tournament.  During her career, Kelsey led her team in RBI's and averaged a .375 batting average.  Kelsey looks forward to sharing her softball skills with the girls at Taunton Girls Softball league.

 

Skills clinics are one hour long and run on Monday nights beginning January 9, 2017 and ending March 6, 2017 (no clinics during Martin Luther King Holiday (1/16/17) and February School Vacation (2/20/17)). There are two time slots 6pm - 7pm and 7pm-8pm which will be organized by age and skill level. This 8-week, two-level clinic will instruct the girls in softball skills to carry them into the 2017 season.
 
The 2017 Winter Skills Clinics are to be held at the Benjamin A. Friedman Middle School Gymnasium, 500 Norton Avenue, Taunton, MA on Monday nights starting January 9, 2017 and ending on March 6, 2017.   Note:  Clinics will NOT be held on the Martin Luther King Holiday (1/16/17) and during February School Vacation 2/20/17.
