2026 Scholarship


 

2026 Taunton Girls Softball League Scholarship Program


The Taunton Girls Softball League (TGSL) will be sponsoring $500.00 scholarships for students who have attended a participating TGSL local high school and are planning to continue their education at a vocational school or college, two-year college, four-year college or university; or has enlisted in a branch of the US Armed Forces.

 

 

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • A graduate of the Class of 2026
  • Have played a minimum of four (4) years of recreational league play in the TGSL
  • Completed the TGSL Scholarship Application online, by the April 20th, 2026 deadline. 
  • Submit a well written essay that relates an activity, lesson, or memory you recall from your time spent playing in the TGSL, and how this experience will help prepare you for the future.
    • Please take your time and put together a well-crafted and thoughtful essay before filling out your application as this is the most important part of the application!

The applicants will be checked to confirm league scholarship parameters. The TGSL Scholarship Committee, made up of TGSL members, will choose a group of finalists based upon a blind reading of the essays submitted. The winner(s)will be chosen from that finalists group by a vote among the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship(s) will be presented during the 2026 Season Opening Day on May 2, 2026 at the Taunton Girls Softball complex. Winner(s) should plan on being in attendance for the presentation. 

 

The applicants do not have to have participated in softball after leaving the TGSL. This is not an award being presented to the most accomplished graduating student-athletes or prolific students; nor is it being presented to the applicants who may have the greatest financial need (all topics of which are subject to consideration). It is simply a gift to a TGSL alumna who has met the qualifications presented by the league.
